About

Hello There!

My name is Maria. I was born and raised in Venezuela but moved to Alberta, Canada when I was 14 years old.

I had the best childhood in Venezuela filled with very good friends and the best family.

Moving to Canada was epic. I still remember stepping out of the plane and the cold wind hitting my face made me think I just stepped into the North Pole haha! The Maria used to the beach and plus thirty degrees was very eager to see the snow for the first time… Until she got a cold the next day from spending time outside when her body was NOT used to extreme temperatures.

I knew basic English at that time so attending high school and being around a new language 24/7 was challenging. However, there is nothing that I love more than a good challenge.

While in High School, I had the opportunity to enrol at the local Royal Canadian Air Cadets Squadron. During my time at cadets, I learned more about Canada, leadership, marksmanship and aviation. I went to many summer camps and had the pleasure of making so many friends along the way. Cadets made my dream of becoming a pilot a reality. I obtained my Glider Pilot Wings at Gimli CFTC in 2015.

After graduating High School, I completed my Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta. Although my time at university was very challenging, those challenges made me more resilient.

Entering the workforce as an Engineer in Training has had its ups and downs, but I think that’s what makes it so much more interesting.

I am passionate about content creation, anything that involves capturing a moment, an idea or a concept. I take pride in my photography and videography work and I’m always looking at opportunities to improve it.

On my YouTube channel, As We Go, I want to share with people my experiences, tips and tricks. I want us to discover, to learn and to create together. Make sure you check it out and subscribe 🙂

If you are here looking for a photographer, let me tell you that we will have a blast capturing the moments you want to hold on and remember, so don’t hesitate on contacting me!
